Project:    Very Early Smoke Detection Aparatus - VESDA

 

Objective:

Implement an early warning system, eliminate plant failure or damage and enhance site availability

 

Proposal:

To proactively enhance safety systems across the site by implementing a VESDA early warning system

 

Process:

Proactively identified the opportunity to implement an early warning system. Pitched proposal and researched possible solutions. Identified best product and implemented system in one unit alongside supplier, with sole responsibility for electrical installation. Evaluated results over a 6 month period and ultimately

rolled out installation across all site units

 

Outcome:

System is online and integrated seamlessly into running of site, reducing lost time incidents and picking up issues early

Project:     Variable Speed

Drive for Gas Compressor

 

Objective:

To replace existing ineffective equipment with a 5.5 megawat variable speed drive

 

Proposal:

To identify and procure a replacement system as existing solution was no longer supported by the supplier making replacement parts unavailable

 

Process:

Supported client through initial tendering process, making recommendations and ultimately selecting a Siemens solution. Worked alongside client and supplier to remove existing system and integrate the new drive into the facility. Developed a plan, drawing and Scope of Works to take compressor offline whilst new drive was installed. Worked alongside Siemens through commissioning and verified checks on emergency shutdown and fire and gas systems.

 

Outcome:

Successfully installed and seamlessly integrated, replacement parts readily available and efficiency enhanced
